Dear Community,

We know that we are not the only Canadians affected by this health care crisis. We applaud all those health care workers who are on the front lines of this pandemic and we send our love and comfort to all those who are directly affected by the virus.

In light of the current COVID-19 outbreak and the recommendations made by Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario and the Premier of Ontario Doug Ford, our office will be closed until further notice as the province has declared a state of emergency to contain the spread.

Our patient’s health is extremely important to us and we want to make every effort to reduce the risk of possible infection. We have made all necessary attempts to contact anyone with an appointment during this closure and we do apologize to all our patients for the inconvenience.

This virus is now considered to be a transmitted through community contact. Please follow these guidelines to reduce your risk:

- Leave 6ft between each other

- Wash your hands frequently for 20 seconds each time

- Do not touch your face, eyes or mouth

- Report to a public health facility if you have a fever, cough or sore throat

For more information, please visit https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/diseases/coronavirus-disease-covid-19.html for further updates.

Please stay safe during this time and take every precautionary measure to avoid infection and transmission of this disease.

Thank you,

Dr. Witzu and staff

Teeth Whitening Before and After

Teeth Whitening in Sudbury at Chelmsford Family Dentistry

Tooth whitening, otherwise known as “bleaching,” is a simple, non-invasive dental treatment used to improve the colour of natural tooth enamel. It’s also an ideal way to enhance the beauty of your smile. Having whiter teeth has now become the number one aesthetic concern of most patients wishing to reverse the effects of aging and stains on teeth. Commercial teeth whitening products can harm the teeth with their harsh abrasives, or may only be effective on certain types of stains. You  can get professional teeth whitening in Greater Sudbury which can be the most effective method available. Before you get started with any whitening procedure, it’s always important to have any fillings, crowns, or other dental appliances evaluated beforehand.

What Does Teeth Whitening in Sudbury Involve?

Professional tooth whitening at our Greater Sudbury clinic usually requires two visits. At the first appointment, impressions (moulds) will be made of your teeth to fabricate custom, clear plastic trays. At your second appointment, you will try on the trays for proper fit. We will make any adjustments if necessary. The trays are worn with our professional whitening solution either twice a day for 30 minutes or overnight for a couple of weeks depending on the degree of staining and desired level of whitening. It is normal to experience tooth sensitivity during the time you are whitening your teeth, but it will subside shortly after you have stopped bleaching.

As with any tooth whitening system, regular touch-ups may be required to help maintain your healthy, white smile. This is especially true if you smoke, or drink beverages such as coffee, tea, or wine.
