*** IMPORTANT PUBLIC NOTICE ***   TEMPORARILY CLOSED DUE TO COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Dear Community,

We know that we are not the only Canadians affected by this health care crisis. We applaud all those health care workers who are on the front lines of this pandemic and we send our love and comfort to all those who are directly affected by the virus.

In light of the current COVID-19 outbreak and the recommendations made by Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario and the Premier of Ontario Doug Ford, our office will be closed until further notice as the province has declared a state of emergency to contain the spread.

Our patient’s health is extremely important to us and we want to make every effort to reduce the risk of possible infection. We have made all necessary attempts to contact anyone with an appointment during this closure and we do apologize to all our patients for the inconvenience.

This virus is now considered to be a transmitted through community contact. Please follow these guidelines to reduce your risk:

- Leave 6ft between each other

- Wash your hands frequently for 20 seconds each time

- Do not touch your face, eyes or mouth

- Report to a public health facility if you have a fever, cough or sore throat

For more information, please visit https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/diseases/coronavirus-disease-covid-19.html for further updates.

Please stay safe during this time and take every precautionary measure to avoid infection and transmission of this disease.

Thank you,

Dr. Witzu and staff

dental implants

Replace One, Several or All Your Teeth with Implant-Supported Dentures

One of the best ways to replace missing teeth is through the use of dental implants. Implants provide a very stable base, allowing a number of options to create a highly realistic smile.

Dental implants are artificial roots and teeth (usually titanium) that are surgically placed into the jawbone. The teeth attached to implants are very natural looking and often enhance or restore a patient’s smile!

Our office realizes the value that dental implants present for patients. As such, we are proud to provide you with any number of dental implant solutions.

Reasons for dental implants:

  • Most Natural Feel
  • Replace One, or Many Missing Teeth
  • Alternative to Ill-Fitting Dentures
  • Restore Chewing
  • Restore Confidence
  • 90% Chewing Capacity (Compared to 20% with Dentures)
  • Prevent Embarrassing Dental Conditions
  • Enhanced Speech
  • No Cavities or Temperature Sensitivity
  • No Need to Compromise Adjacent Teeth

What does Getting Dental Implants Involve?

The process of getting implants requires a number of visits over several months. X-rays are taken of the jaw and teeth to determine bone, gum tissue, and spacing available for an implant. While the area is numb, the implant will be surgically placed into the bone and allowed to heal and integrate itself onto the bone for around 4 months. Depending on the type of implant, a second surgery may be required in order to place the “post” that will hold the artificial tooth in place. With other implants the post and anchor are already attached and placed at the same time.

Once the titanium implant is "fused" with the jawbone, the artificial teeth are made and fitted to the post portion of the anchor. The artificial teeth are securely attached to the implant, providing excellent stability and comfort to the patient.

You will receive care instructions when your treatment is completed. Good oral hygiene, eating habits, and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your new implant.
